The Archbishop of Kenya’s Nyeri Archdiocese has encouraged school going children in the East African nation not to overlook their faith, and to “study diligently”.
Archbishop Anthony Muheria who spoke to ACI Africa on the sidelines of the Episcopal Consecration of the Local Ordinary of Nakuru Diocese, Bishop Cleophas Oseso Tuka, on May 6 addressed the children resuming school the following week.
“For young people and children returning to school, remember your faith, remember to study diligently,” Archbishop Muheria said.
The Kenyan Archbishop also advised school going children to remain focused and to keep off pleasures “that may be interesting but insignificant”.
“You are the future, and you have a future,” Archbishop Muheria said, and added, “Young people, God loves you; stay strong in faith; may your faith be on fire.”
He underscored the need for young people to “embrace God”, saying, “God will defend you for He never leaves you.”
