Lubango, 13 January, 2024 / 9:28 pm (ACI Africa).
At the Eucharistic celebration to mark 24 years since he was Ordained Bishop, the Local Ordinary of Angola’s Lubango Archdiocese has urged the people of God to be “visible signs of unity” in the Church.
In his homily during the Monday, January 8 Eucharistic celebration, Archbishop Gabriel Mbilingi also asked for prayers for the success of his ministry in the Angolan Metropolitan See.
“We must continue to love, we must continue to be the visible sign of the unity of this church,” Archbishop Mbilingi said during the Eucharistic celebration at St. Joseph Cathedral of Lubango Archdiocese.
The Angolan member of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit under the protection of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (CSSp/Spiritans) who was Consecrated Bishop on 6 January 2000 by Pope St. John Paul II in Rome said, “I really only have to thank the Lord and ask him to be faithful to me just as I have become through ordination.”
The Archbishop of Lubango continued, “I have heard that voice of the Lord saying: ‘'you are my son, you are my beloved, you are my anointed.’”
