The Biblical Youth Coordinator for the Catholic Diocese of Viana has described the inaugural Bible Day in Angolan Episcopal See as an opportunity to address the concerns and misconceptions faced by young Catholics on the Bible.
Held under the theme “Religion and Today’s Youth,” the Monday, September 16 event was aimed at addressing the spiritual concerns of young Catholics while promoting unity among youth from different parishes and pastoral centers of country.
Through open dialogue and faith-based discussions, the event sought to dispel misconceptions and strengthen the participants’ understanding of their Catholic faith.
Speaking to journalists at the end of the event, Humbertina Catombo explained the reason behind this inaugural Bible Day, stating that it arose from a desire to create a sense of community among the diocese’s youth, who he said “often find themselves isolated in their faith.”
“Young people have the habit of being alone. There was a need to have this journey because we wanted to unite the youth,” the Bible youth coordinator said.
