Archbishop Gabriel Mbilingi of Angola’s Lubango Catholic Archdiocese has been urged to continue fostering the unity of the people of God as he marks 25 years since he started his Episcopal Ministry.
Archbishop Zeferino Zeca Martins, the Local Ordinary of Huambo Catholic Archdiocese in Angola, made the call in his homily during a Thanksgiving Mass for Archbishop Mbilingi’s Episcopal Silver Jubilee at the Multi-Purpose Pavilion of Our Lady of Monte in Lubango.
“In a world marked by divisions, we urge you to be a constant instrument of unity. May your pastoral leadership continue fostering dialogue, reconciliation, and peace both within the Church and in society,” Archbishop Zeca said during the January 5 Eucharistic celebration.
He encouraged Archbishop Mbilingi to be “a bridge between cultures, peoples, and nations, spreading the Gospel and promoting universal fraternity.”
“May your words continue to resonate with courage and truth, denouncing injustice and proclaiming what is just. May your presence always be a sign of hope and commitment to human dignity, especially in challenging times,” Archbishop Zeca told Archbishop Mbilingi.
