On the occasion of Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus marked amid the heat of COVID-19, devotees across Ghana have been called to rededicate their lives to God through prayers and to make their devotion a family affair.
In his address to mark the Solemnity Friday, June 19, Togbe Atsuvi Srem, National President of the Ghana’s Sacred Heart Enthronement Centre encouraged the devotees Sacred Heart of Jesus not to lose hope over the current world-wide CIOVID-19 pandemic but instead to seek forgiveness of sins for themselves and for the whole world.
“We must rededicate ourselves to God through the Sacred Heart of His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ by praying fervently, asking for the forgiveness of our sins and those of the whole world, with the promise to change for the better to try to fulfill the wish of God,” Mr. Togbe Srem said.
He added, “Only then shall we expect mercy from the Father in heaven. All hope is not lost; He is a forgiving Father. He listens to His children. Mother Mary continues to plead on our behalf.”
The retired Educationist further said that the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus was obligatory to all Christians but membership of the Sacred Heart Confraternity, though recommended, is not obligatory and that “the obligatory nature of the devotion was derived from the fact of its inseparable link to the Holy Spirit of God, which is the font of divine love.”
