Nairobi, 04 October, 2019 / 3:49 am (ACI Africa).
As Catholics across the globe live through this special month of prayer and action called the Extraordinary Mission Month of October 2019 (EMMOCT2019), which Pope Francis declared, a network of 23 Catholic radio stations in Africa is set to broadcast live the “international rosary” slated to take place on the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary, Monday, October 7 from Rome.
“Radios in at least 23 African countries will be connected and also Africans will be there (Rome) and many will follow through radios,” the Coordinator of Radio Maria Africa, Paolo Taffuri told ACI Africa.
“October this year is the Extraordinary Missionary month. Pope Francis wants us all Christians to be more vibrant as missionaries and to pray for the mission month,” he added.
A statement on the official website of EMMOCT2019 mentions the World Family of Radio Maria (WFRM), which runs the Marian stations as the organizer of the Monday event.
“The Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and the Pontifical Mission Societies have invited Radio Maria to organize this event, which is relevant worldwide since it will be broadcast live on radio and video,” the statement reads.
