A Cleric serving in Uganda’s Diocese of Masaka has called on the people of God in the East African nation to pray for the healing of Bishop Serverus Jjumba who is battling COVID-19 in hospital.
“The Bishop has contracted COVID-19 and he is currently in hospital,” the Communications Director of Masaka Diocese, Fr. Ronald Mayanja told ACI Africa Thursday, December 10.
Fr. Mayanja added, “I ask the people to continue praying to God for the healing of our Bishop.”
Bishop Jjumba who is admitted at Mulago Hospital in Uganda’s capital, Kampala started feeling sick on November 30, Fr. Mayanja told ACI Africa, adding that two days later, the health situation of the Bishop who had taken some medication got worse.
The Bishop “explained to his doctor about his situation and that is when he had to test for COVID,” Fr. Mayanja recalled the events of December 2 that saw Bishop Jjumba admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
