Kolda, 15 December, 2020 / 2:05 pm (ACI Africa).
The leadership of Senegal’s Diocese of Kolda has announced the creation of a School of Theology aimed at fostering the formation of the Lay faithful in the Diocese that is in the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Dakar.
“I have come, with faith and hope, to announce the creation, as of January 2021, a ‘Theology School’,” the Episcopal Vicar in charge of formation in the Diocese of Kolda, Fr. Séraphin-Raphaël Ntab, has been quoted as saying.
In the Monday, December 14 report, Fr. Ntab says that the School, which has been named after Pope emeritus Benedict XVI will “respond to the need for doctrinal training of the laity in a world where doctrine is expressed in the plural and the risk for the untrained layman would be to get lost in the meanders of teachings with an unsafe doctrinal line.”
To be based in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victories of Kolda Diocese, the Theology School will have free of charge training sessions once a month.
However, new members will be required to pay 15,000 CFA Francs (US$27.00) as registration fee.
