Catholics in Swaziland are celebrating the appointment of a compatriot as President of the Vatican-based International Catholic Committee of Nurses and Medico-Social Assistants (CICIAMS).
“The Diocese of Manzini celebrates the election of Dr. Rosemary Khosi Mthethwa as International President of CICIAMS,” the Bishop of of Manzini, José Luís Ponce de León says in his Wednesday, February 10 message obtained by ACI Africa.
In the message published by the Inter-Regional Meeting of the Bishops of Southern Africa (IMBISA), Bishop José Luís says Dr. Mthethwa’s appointment to the international professional body “is a very important recognition of the faith, dedication and capabilities” that she “has shown all her life.”
The appointment is a reminder of Prophet Micah’s words, “But you Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from old, from ancient times,” the Argentinian-born Bishop adds.
“The Diocese of Manzini and the country, Eswatini, has been able to offer the world the services and leadership of such a gifted person,” the member of the Consolata Missionaries says.
