Human Resource Award to Zimbabwe Bishops' Conference Staff "vote of confidence": Officials

The December 2 awards were organized as part of IPMZ 60th anniversary celebrations held at the Rainbow Towers Hotel and Conference Center in Zimbabwe’s capital, Harare. 

HR personnel from the public and private sectors, NGOs, and parastatals were awarded during the ceremony.

In the December 6 report, ZCBC officials explain that prior to the award ceremony, Select Research and Vali & Co. Chartered Accountants undertook the process of selection and nomination. 

They say the selection process, which involved “nomination, analyzing, scoring, assurance and validation" was “transparent as far as possible.”

"Nominations were done using peer to peer method, market intelligence, publicly available data as well as sector specific information gathering," ZCBC officials say, and add, "This was all done to ensure that individuals and organizations who would eventually come out as winners have a demonstrable and well documented contribution to the human resource profession."

The documentations that were scrutinized included those relating to employee wellness, recruitment and selection, reward mechanisms, training and development, and dispute resolution. 

"This should contribute to sustainability of organizations as well as growth and development of people, who are the most important assets of an organization," they say. 

As the HR manager, the report says, Mr. Dhafana is responsible for guiding and advising on human capital at the ZCBC Secretariat and Catholic Dioceses across the Southern African country. 

"The HR office of ZCBC is also responsible for the administrative function as well as pensions administration," the December 6 report indicates.
