A stable society is a product of stable families, the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka Diocese in Nigeria has said, and called upon parents to embrace sacrifice as they bring up their children.
In his homily on Monday, April 25 at St. Thomas Parish of Nsukka Diocese, Bishop Godfrey Igwebuike Onah said that it is very disappointing to be Catholic parents to children lacking in faith.
“The stability of the family is the beginning of the stability of the society; at least you have people you can look at and parents are the people you can look at,” Bishop Onah said at the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the parents of Fr. Anthony Adani.
The Nigerian Bishop added, “The life of husband and wife is the life of give and take.”
He said that everything done in the society, including respecting laws and rules emanates from the family. He added that rules are there, in both religious and non-religious organizations, to be obeyed.
