The Secretariat of Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SCBC) was looted in a nighttime robbery, the Secretary General of the Conference confirmed the incident in a Wednesday, May 25 press conference.
Fr. Peter Suleiman told journalists that the robbery incident at the Juba-based Catholic Secretariat took place during the May 24-25 night after the security guard had been drugged to “unconsciousness.”
“I received a phone call this morning at 6:30 a.m. that robbers broke in and destroyed all the doors of the Secretariat,” Fr. Suleiman recounted, and added, “We were surprised this morning to find an unconscious watchman thrown in the middle of the compound and I hurried to take him to the hospital,”

The member of the Clergy of Sudan’s El Obeid Diocese said the robbers made away with computers and an unspecified sum of money in US dollars and South Sudanese Pounds.
