Having in place laws that make abortion, same sex marriages, and polygamy legal is tantamount to “legitimizing sins”, the Catholic Bishop of Mangochi Diocese in Malawi has said.
Bishop Montfort Stima who was speaking during the launch of the Bible month at St. Mary’s Parish of his Episcopal See on September 4 said that legal provisions allowing the highlighted vices contradicts the Holy Scripture.
Laws of that nature are “attempts at legitimizing sins, which the Bible equivocally speaks against,” Bishop Stima is quoted as saying in a Wednesday, September 7 report.
“Let’s believe in God as our shield and protector. Those in polygamous relations don’t want to heed the advice of the Bible on one man-one woman,” the Malawian Bishop said.
He said the Bible is a double-edged sword, which slices mercilessly through evil, adding that the intent of the word of God is to make humanity wise and be in good relationship with his Creator.
