The Apostolic Nuncio in Sudan has encouraged Catholic Bishops in Sudan and South Sudan to make every effort “to improve evangelization” in their respective Episcopal Sees.
Archbishop Luís Miguel Muñoz Cárdaba who was addressing members of the Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SCBC) at the end of their October 19-25 Plenary Assembly said, “I would like you, Bishops of Sudan and South Sudan, to take your responsibilities and work hard in your various Dioceses to improve evangelization.”
“Evangelization is something very important for us Christians and the Catholic communities because it's the way we can be able to reach our people with the good news of the gospel,” Archbishop Cárdaba said in his address on Tuesday, October 25.
The Apostolic Nuncio in Sudan who also represents the Holy Father in Eritrea underscored the value of evangelization to the mission of the Church, saying it “is the only way we can reach our people with the services of God and to make them believe and understand.”
“By improving evangelization, we would be able to reach diverse people who are not part of this journey to be with us and we move together,” the Spanish-born Vatican diplomat told the Catholic Bishops of the two neighboring countries.
