Members of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) in Rwanda have partnered with an Italian Foundation to facilitate the expansion of their school in Kimihurura in the Catholic Archdiocese of Kigali in view of providing quality education to “more children”.

The expansion that will see Don Bosco Nursery and Primary School gain six new classrooms, bathrooms, a spacious library, and a computer lab is financed by the Opera Don Bosco Foundation in Milan, Italy.

“Don Bosco Nursery and Primary School, located in the neighborhood of Kimihurura in Kigali, Rwanda, is undergoing an expansion to accommodate more children and provide increased quality education,” SDB officials say in a Thursday, September 7 report

They recall that requests for the school’s expansion came from parents who would like to send their children to the learning institution.

In the report, the Director of the Institute of Apostolic Formation of Kimihurura says the school has had many achievements since it was started.

“Aside from the knowledge that the children gain at Don Bosco Nursery and Primary School, we have accomplished many things. Our school has undergone a transformation from its original Kimihurura Nursery School, with significant improvements and additional efforts that have brought us to where we are today,” says Fr. Jean Bosco Ntirenganya.

Fr. Ntirenganya adds that the school was officially accredited by the National Examination and School Inspection Authority in 2022.

The Catholic Priest credits the learning institution’s achievements to the collaboration between the parents and the school management.

“We are able to achieve so much with parent support. If we continue to work together we will achieve all of our dreams for this school and the children,” the Salesian Catholic Priest says.
