Luanda, 25 December, 2023 / 9:02 pm (ACI Africa).
The Catholic Archdiocese of Luanda in Angola has launched a Christmas Solidarity Initiative to reach out to thousands of vulnerable persons in Parishes within the Metropolitan See.
Speaking during the launch of the Sixth Edition of Solidarity Christmas 2023, the Local Ordinary of Luanda encouraged the people of God to contribute generously to help “vulnerable persons in our community.”
“Let's start by casting our nets, let's go into battle with hope, with confidence, and I believe in the beauty of the goodness of the heart of each one of us, of the fraternity of each member of our society,” Archbishop Filomeno do Nascimento Vieira Dias said during the Wednesday, December 13 event.
He added, “Let's go, and without labels, let's see with that label that we have in common: humanity, and let's feel that we are one family.”
For the current edition held under the theme “Open Your Hand and Comfort Your Heart”, Archbishop Dias said, “Various goods, especially basic necessities, will be distributed in parishes where needy families have already been identified.”
