The people of God in Gabon who just concluded the yearlong celebrations to mark 175 years of Catholicism in their country have been encouraged to maintain the pastoral and spiritual passion that they experienced throughout the year, the Papal delegate to the concluding ceremony, Archbishop Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso said Sunday, September 29.
The Church in Gabon is marking 175 years of Catholicism in the country with thanksgiving to God for the accomplishments made since the first missionary, Fr Jean- Rémi Bessieux arrived in 1844.
A newly formed congregation of religious women in Gabon has received blessings from the Bishop of Mouila diocese, Mathieu Madega Lebouakehan who has encouraged spiritual and material support for the nuns.
