Archbishop Malcolm McMahon of Liverpool, England, declared the miraculous healing of John Traynor, a soldier of the British Royal Navy, on Dec. 8.
The pope pointed out “offering, giving thanks, and sharing” as highlights of the miracle recounted in the Gospel of John.
The blood “is not an oracle to consult and even less a city horoscope whose function is to predict misfortune or fortune for the city,” one archbishop said.

The miracle attributed to Rivier, who can now be canonized as a saint in the Catholic Church, involved the healing of a newborn baby in the Philippines in 2015.
