The Vatican on Tuesday unveiled the theme of the next international World Youth Day, which will be in Seoul, South Korea, in 2027.
“As Blessed Carlo Acutis said, the Eucharist is the highway to heaven,” the pope wrote in his message for diocesan World Youth Days published on Sept. 17.
The launch event for World Youth Day 2027 was held at the Myeongdong Cathedral on July 28 and drew more than 1,000 young attendees.
The event was inspired by a 9-year-old boy named Alessandro, who proposed the idea to the pope to have an international event for younger children.
The pope’s message on the theme “Rejoicing in Hope,” was released ahead of the next diocesan World Youth Day, to be celebrated on Nov. 26.
