Human Life International (HLI), the world’s largest pro-life and pro-family Catholic apostolate, has applauded Malawi’s Constitutional Court for rejecting same-sex marriages, noting that the move depicts “the wisdom of Africa.”
On June 28, the Constitutional Court of the Southern African nation reportedly dismissed the case of two applicants, who wanted it to legalize same-sex relationships in the country.
In a statement that was sent out following the court pronouncement, the Director of Education and Research at HLI, Dr. Brian Clowes, lauds Malawi for resisting what he described as “latest fads” such as same-sex marriages, and choosing to follow God.
“Once again, we Westerners see the wisdom of Africa. Instead of following the latest fads, Africans follow God and His plan for our lives. This is why Africa will lead the world in just a couple of decades,” Dr. Clowes says in the statement that was shared with ACI Africa on Wednesday, July 3.
He adds, “All the African people have to do is reject the corruption the West is trying to force upon them.”
