Jesus’ decision to employ various ways to preach the Kingdom of God should inspire members of the Clergy if they have to be effective in touching the lives of especially young people, Bishop Simon Peter Kamomoe, one of the three Auxiliary Bishops of the Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi (ADN) in Kenya has said.
In his Friday, July 12 homily during the ordination of new Deacons and Priests of ADN at the Holy Family Minor Basilica, Bishop Kamomoe challenged the Deacons-elect and the Priests-elect to strive “to be very practical and effective teachers like Christ Himself.”
“Christ used diverse ways of preaching and teaching including the use of parables”, he said, and added, “You are also required to use all the dynamics that you have to ensure that your teaching is effective in helping these young people especially to understand the will of God.”
The Kenyan Catholic Bishop expressed confidence in the ability of the newly ordained Deacons and Priest to help boost the apostolate among youths in the Metropolitan See headquartered in Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi.
“Come you young Priests and help us to address the issues the youths feel the Church has failed thus disappointing them, maybe out of the inadequacy that we have, we have disappointed them,” he said.
