“A servant of God must reflect the virtues of holiness in the eyes of men, for the glory of God,” the 72-year-old Congolese Catholic Bishop, who has been at the helm of Butembo-Beni Diocese since his Episcopal Consecration in August 1998 said.
He went on to highlight the mandate of Priests and Deacons, saying, “Priests and Deacons share the Priesthood with Bishops. Their role is to proclaim the good news and to watch over the people of God.”
Bishop Paluku also underscored the importance of working for a healthy environment, which he said “must be everyone's battle.”
“Let us remain firm in hope; let us treat others as we want to be treated, fighting for the happiness of all,” the Catholic Church leader said.
He continued, “Butembo is not the navel of the world. Let's respect the environment, because it's our common home. We are called upon to care for and protect it for our own good and that of future generations.”
“May God help his servants in their mission so that they may be counted as true disciples of Christ who came, not to be served, but to serve,” Bishop Paluku implored.
The four Deacons ordained Priests include Kasereka Kihethe Gilbert, Musafiri Muhitsya Jean Christian, Lwanzo Vinywa Sivyolo Arsène and Muhindo Wasingya Bienfait.
The 23 Seminarians ordained Deacons are Kakule Kavunga Emmanuel, Kambale Sengemoja Kizito Jean-Baptiste, Kasereka Mastaki Jean-Noël Eloge, Kasereka Virimu Kitunga Jean Bienfait, Muhindo Viswere Yanick, and Kasereka Masemengo Moïse.
Others are Syaghuswa Vutseme Bertrand, Mumbere Mutheke Fabrice Moïse, Kambale Musubao Gaston, Kasereka Vagheni Jonas, Kambale Musondolya Vurungi Gerlas, Kasereka Vulonge Faustin, Isevo Bukara Nelson, and Raphaël Nzoghu Mutokambali,
Muhindo Kyota Evariste, Shebwira Mundeke Ives, Kasereka Katende Mirembe André, Kasereka Grâce Athnase, Paluku Kihalulo Patrick, Mbusa Kisangani Daniel, Mbusa Kakuthulo Jacques, Muhindo Kalirihoki Gilbert, and Kasereka Katseme Germain were also among the 23 newly ordained Deacons.
