The 8th meeting of the National Council of Catholic Communicators in Cameroon has ended with a call on Catholic media practitioners to witness and foster peace and hope” in their professional undertakings.
Addressing the Catholic Communicators at the end of their February 24-27 meeting in the Catholic Archdiocese of Yaoundé, the Secretary General of the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon (NECC) underscored the importance of respectful and value-driven communication.
“Be witnesses and promoters of a communication of peace and not of hostility. Always sow hope, even if it may seem difficult,” Mons. Paul Nyaga said Thursday, February 27.
Mons. Nyaga added, “You have experienced moments of intense reflection and sharing. These moments have allowed you to reinforce our mission as Catholic communicators in this unique context of the Jubilee and Electoral Year. You have learned to promote respectful communication and to highlight Christian values in your messages.”
Making reference to the theme of the Catholic Church’s 2025 Jubilee Year, the Cameroonian Catholic Priest reminded participants of Pope Francis' call to be “Pilgrims of Hope” by multiplying signs of peace and justice in their communication apostolate.
