Plans are underway for training sessions targeting the Clergy and women and men Religious serving in the Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi (ADN) as part of the “spiritual journey” of the ongoing Catholic Church’s 2025 Jubilee Year, the Local Ordinary of the Kenyan Metropolitan See has said.
In his Pastoral Letter for 2025 Lent and Easter, Archbishop Philip Subira Anyolo highlights “social outreach programs” and “reconciliation efforts” as other initiatives in the celebrations of the 2025 Jubilee Year, which Pope Francis officially launched on the Eve of Christmas 2024 with the opening of the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica.
“In preparation for the spiritual journey of the Jubilee, training sessions and workshops are being organized for Priests and religious,” Archbishop Anyolo says in his Pastoral Letter on the occasion of the 2025 Lenten Season and Easter.
The training sessions, which are to focus on the significance of the Holy Door of Hope, he says, aim to “equip the Clergy with the tools to guide the faithful in understanding and experiencing the graces of the Jubilee Year.”
In the 16-page Pastoral Letter published under the title, “He was put to death for our trespasses and raised for our justification” drawn from Romans 4:25, Archbishop Anyolo, who officially launched the Jubilee Year in ADN on 29 December 2024 highlights other initiatives in his Metropolitan See, both realized and planned, that are part of the 2025 Jubilee Year celebrations.
