Days before officially assuming office of Secretary General of the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB), Fr. Kennedy Seketa has passed on.
The 51-year-old Zambian Priest who was expected to officially begin his service as ZCCB Secretary General next week, on July 1, died Friday, June 25.
"Dear brother Priests, it is with deep sorrow and sadness that I have to announce to you all the passing on to the Lord of Very Rev. Fr. Kennedy Seketa, ZCCB Secretary General," the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Kasama, Fr. Rodgers Fikwamo, has been quoted as saying.
In his message shared by Lutanda Catholic Radio News, Fr. Fikwamo encourages the Clergy, women and men Religious, and the Laity in the Zambian Metropolitan See to spiritual communion.
Fr. Seketa tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, June 21 and was receiving treatment at the Levy Mwanawasa Hospital in Zambia’s capital city, Lusaka, a source in the Southern African nation told ACI Africa June 25.
