Members of the Religious Institute of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) at Corpus Christi Catholic Parish of Ijebu-Ode Diocese in Nigeria have facilitated the renovation of the Chapel where some 1,500 worshipers gather for liturgical celebrations.
In a Tuesday, June 7 report shared with ACI Africa, SDB members in the Nigerian Parish say the Chapel is ready for use and thank all those who contributed towards its renovation.
“The renovated chapel can now be used by all who want to find solace, peace and quiet, as well as by groups and organizations who are holding prayer meetings, reflections, retreats and novenas,” SDB members say, and add, “This Chapel has benefited 500 young children, 400 older youth, and 600 women and men.”
In the report, the Director of Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of SDB, says the renovated Chapel offers room for communal prayer.
“We appreciate our donors who have helped make improvements to this Chapel so that people have a place to pray and come together with one another,” Fr. Gus Baek has been quoted as saying.
