Nairobi, 10 August, 2021 / 8:30 pm (ACI Africa).
Catholic Parishes across various Dioceses in Kenya are invited to pray the Holy Rosary for those working towards evangelization in the country through the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB).
Dubbed “Missionary Rosary Marathon”, the prayers that will be launched on Sunday, August 15 at 0700 hours EAT will run until October 30, the PMS Kenya National Director, Fr. Bonaventure Luchidio, has said.
The prayers, which will be aired daily at 0830 hours EAT on the PMSKENYA Facebook channel will be aimed at strengthening the work of missionaries who minister in hardship Dioceses of the East African country, Fr. Luchidio says in a Tuesday, August 10 interview with ACI Africa.
The PMS Kenya National Director differentiates evangelization in geographical peripheries from existential peripheries and insists that both require attention and support.
“There are places that have church buildings and Priests who offer Masses on a daily basis yet some Christians don’t go to church. These are existential peripheries,” Fr. Luchidio tells ACI Africa, and adds, “Some people don’t go to church because they feel that church is not helping them. Others feel neglected. All these people need someone to preach the Gospel of Christ to them.”
