Pope Francis has accepted the retirement of Bishop Adriano Langa of Inhambane Diocese in Mozambique and appointed his successor.
In the latest administrative changes published Monday, April 4 by the Holy See Press Office, Pope Francis appointed Bishop Ernesto Maguengue, the Auxiliary Bishop of Nampula Archdiocese, as Bishop Langa’s successor.
The 57-year-old Mozambican Bishop was ordained a Priest for the Archdiocese of Maputo in May 1989.
In June 2004, he was appointed Bishop of Pemba and ordained a Bishop for the Mozambican Diocese in October 2004.
He resigned in October 2012, and appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Nampula Archdiocese in August 2014.
