Members of the Kenya Christian Professionals Forum (KCPF) have urged the electorate in Kenya to take part in the Tuesday, August 9 elections, and to be prepared to accept the fact that the political candidates they vote for can win or lose.
In a statement issued on the eve of the election, the Christian Professionals say, "In a few hours, we will head to the ballot to exercise the civic right to vote. We urge you to turn out in numbers, to vote for your candidate of choice, hoping to win and ready to lose."
In the statement signed by their Chairman, Charles Kanjama, KCPF members add, "If the election results favor you, celebrate graciously; if not accept and move on."
The Christian Professionals call on Kenyans to remain peaceful during the electioneering period, saying, "No one should lose their joy, prosperity or life as a result of elections."
"Election is a process and voting is just part of it; citizens should play their part then step aside and allow the process to continue," they say.
