Tombura-Yambio, 01 April, 2023 / 9:00 pm (ACI Africa).
Catechists serving in South Sudan’s Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio (CDTY) are “doing a great job”, a member of the Clergy of the Diocese has said.
In an interview with ACI Africa, Fr. John Medeni underscored the need for Catechists who had taken part in the Diocesan one-month training to continue being aware of the “vital role” they play in the evangelization service in CDTY.
“The Catechists are doing a great job in our Diocese; that’s why we are calling on them to spearhead evangelization at all levels of the Diocese,” Fr. Medeni said during the March 28 interview.
Catechists play a “vital role in fostering evangelization and addressing challenges communities face” in CDTY, the member of the Clergy of South Sudanese Catholic Diocese who serves as Pastoral Coordinator said.
He added, “There are people who received Sacraments or grew up in faithful homes who have now stopped coming to Church or stopped participating in pastoral activities.”
