Fridolin Cardinal Ambongo has invited the new Auxiliary Bishop of Kisangani Archdiocese in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to build his episcopal ministry around the practice of unconditional love, embracing all the people of God under his pastoral care “without distinction.”
In his homily during the Sunday, August 13 Episcopal Ordination of Mons. Lénard Ndjadi Ndjate, the Archbishop of Kinshasa, Cardinal Ambongo expressed “deep gratitude to Pope Francis, for his pastoral solicitude towards the particular Church of Kisangani.”
The Congolese Cardinal invited Bishop Ndjadi to be "a Bishop who suffers when his people suffer, a bishop who rejoices with his people.”
The Bishop was further urged to be a leader who receives "everyone without discrimination" and one who shows "great pastoral solicitude towards Priests, Consecrated Persons and Lay people."
The member of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin (OFM Cap) who presided over the Eucharistic celebration and Episcopal Ordination at the courtyard of Mapendano college in Kisangani told the new Bishop “to trust in God, who will work wonders in you, for you and through you for his people.”
