Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto has been lauded for his “selfless service” to the people of God in the West African nation since he was Consecrated Bishop 12 years ago.
In a Friday, September 8 tribute, representatives of the Diocese of Sokoto also honor the Catholic Church leader for his “unwavering commitment”.
“Throughout the years, you have tirelessly shepherded the flock, leading by example and spreading God's love,” they say, and add, “Thank you for your selfless service and for being a beacon of light in our lives. We are grateful for your steadfast presence and the countless lives you have touched.”
The representatives of Sokoto Diocese acknowledge with gratitude the member of the Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development (DPIHD) who was consecrated on 8 September 2011 for impacting the lives of the people of God.
They say that the Catholic Church leader who has been vocal about injustices and advocated for good governance in Nigeria has “touched the hearts of many, and your compassion has uplifted those in need” through his teachings.
