Nairobi, 31 October, 2023 / 9:52 pm (ACI Africa).
African delegates who participated in the October 4-29 XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops in Rome are expected to share their experience and lessons from the meeting in a webinar scheduled for November 15.
The virtual event has been initiated by the African Synodality Initiative (ASI), a partnership between the Jesuits Conference of Africa and Madagascar (JCAM), the Symposium of the Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM), and the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa (AMECEA).
In a note that ASI Program Coordinator, Caroline Kavita, shared with ACI Africa on Monday, October 30, ASI indicates that during the webinar, “speakers and panelists will reflect on the experience and lessons from the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops.”
“ASI aims to generate creative ideas and resources to support local churches in Africa and enable them to engage fruitfully and constructively in the synodal process. This post-synodal webinar will reflect on the experience, insights, and lessons from the 16th Ordinary Assembly of the Synods of Bishops,” the note that Ms. Kavita sent to ACI Africa further reads.
It continues, “The webinar will be a crucial moment for debriefing and offering an African perspective on the synodal process. The discussion will be available in both English and French.”
