“In return, the pastor must be attentive all but most especially the Sheep that needs his care. He must feel the smell of the sheep,” the Local Ordinary of N’Djamena said.
According to the principal consecrator during the Episcoapal ordination, “Bishop Mbairabé is a gift from God to the Church in Koumra Diocese and the Universal Church.”
The Archbishop urged the new Bishop to, therefore, be an “example of service like the Master Jesus Christ.”
“Work in collaboration with your Priests, religious men and women and the laity for the Bishop is the symbol of communion in the Diocese,” the 71-year-old Catholic Bishop who started his Episcopal Ministry in February 1992 as Local Ordinary of Chad’s Sarh Diocese said.
He continued, “The mission entrusted to you is that of reconciliation. Unite our fellow brothers and sisters constantly in conflict.”
The Local Ordinary of N’Djaména Archdiocese who also serves as the President of the Episcopal Conference of Chad (CET encouraged the new Bishop not be afraid to preach the Gospel of peace, saying, “The Lord who has called you, will give you wisdom and strength to carry out your mission.”
On August 12, Pope Francis erected the Catholic Diocese of Koumra as a new Episcopal See in Chad and appointed Bishop Mbairabé as its pioneer Bishop.
The Chadian Bishop, who was born in July 1972 in Sarh was ordained a Priest for N’Djaména Archdiocese in November 2005 after completing his theological and philosophical studies at St. Luke de Bakara Interdiocesan Major Seminary in N’Djaména.
He is to oversee the newly erected Diocese with St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus Church as the Cathedral.
The newly erected Diocese that is a suffragan of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of N’Djaména coincides with the civil province of Mandoul, of which Koumra is its principal city.
