Freetown, 28 December, 2023 / 9:30 pm (ACI Africa).
The Executive Director of Caritas Freetown in Sierra Leone has been listed as one of the most outstanding personalities in the West African nation for his dedicated service to the vulnerable in the Archdiocese headquartered in the country’s capital city, Freetown.
In an announcement that was made public on December 15, Chozen Generation Sierra Leone (CGSL) recognized Fr. Peter Konteh for his “commitment and dedication to serving humanity through a number of projects undertaken by Caritas Freetown.”
The CGSL award was a recognition of nine Sierra Leoneans who used their services, businesses or crafts to inspire change and “to help build the much-craved positive image of Sierra Leone in 2022.”
CGSL National Coordinator, Harry Henry Kargbo, said that winners of the 2022 award performed “exceptionally well” against all odds.
“Congratulations to all the winners. Being recognized as one of the most outstanding Sierra Leoneans is no small feat. Irrespective of the fact that 2022 was a challenging year, Sierra Leoneans managed to perform exceptionally in their respective disciplines and touched lives. Compatriots saw their work and recognized its impact,” Mr. Kargbo said.
