The three-year initiative aimed to integrate mental health care into community interventions across the West African nation of Ivory Coast is a “concrete action” being undertaken to give hope to persons living with mental disorders, an official of the country’s Catholic Bishops’ Conference has said.
“The challenges are many: the dignity of work, family, education, civic engagement, care for creation, and new technologies,” Pope Francis said.
The youth pilgrimage was organized in an effort to reach out to young people whose lives were upended during the past two years of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
