‘It was my duty" to Be There: Catholic Priest at Crash Site of Deadly Midair Plane Collision in Washington, DC

After the tragic plane crash in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night, Father Frederick Edlefsen made his way to the scene “to be present” with the grieving families.

Emergency response units search the wreckage on Jan. 30, 2025, of an American Airlines plane on the Potomac River after it crashed on approach to Reagan National Airport the night before.
