Pope Francis Appoints Apostolic Administrator for DRC’s Popokabaka Diocese

After considering the state of health of the Local Ordinary of Popokabaka Diocese in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) Pope Francis has appointed Mons. Cyrille Ikomba Mankelele Mambi as an apostolic Administrator to help in shepherding the Diocese.

At the Episcopal Ordination of the new Bishop for Popokabaka Diocese in the Democratic Republic Congo (DRC) August 23, the Archbishop of Kinshasa encouraged the Bishop-elect, Bernard Marie Fansaka, to take the advantage of the “cultural heritage” of the people of God in the Diocese including their common language to foster unity.
