The Holy See Press Office released today Pope Francis’ message for the 110th World Day of Migrants and Refugees.
The pope spoke one day after he gave a strong condemnation of euthanasia on his return flight from Marseille, France, saying there is such a thing as “bad compassion.”
“We can no longer watch the drama of shipwrecks, caused by the cruel trafficking and the fanaticism of indifference,” the pope said Sept. 22.
In his message for the 109th World Day of Migrants and Refugees, released May 11, Pope Francis recognized the migratory flows of our times as “the expression of a complex and varied phenomenon” that requires analysis of the different stages, including the departure, arrival, and the possibility of returning to one’s homeland.
The pope made the comment in his message for World Day of Migrants and Refugees 2022.
